Your corporate strategy will be (em)powered by the cloud

The idea of the cloud has become common, but many companies still struggle with how to embrace the new technology within their own businesses.

For the past 15 years, the internet has been a source of ideas. It’s an innovation laboratory, change generator, status quo disruptor. It is constantly evolving, the latest of major innovations being the cloud. By using the internet to store large amounts of information, the internet now allows businesses and customers to access massive amounts of data and powerful software directly from our workstations as if it were on our own servers. The cloud and all it offers are challenging the old ways of doing business.

The idea of the cloud has become common, but many companies still struggle with how to embrace the new technology within their own businesses. Shifting to the cloud can seem overwhelming, and many organizations are reluctant to take the leap. At Perception Group, we moved aggressively to the cloud at the beginning of the wave, but we know this isn’t the right method for all our customers. Fortunately, Microsoftprovides hybrid cloud solutions that enable us to help clients stage their transitions and be successful.

Microsoft’s hybrid cloud solutions allow our customers to make the transition to the cloud in a more manageable way with technology they trust. In working with our clients, we’ve found that there are many advantages to this. The one that stands out the most to us is that it reduces the cost for our clients — they are able to take advantage of the same tools large companies use, without large investments. Products like Azure andOffice 365 make the powerful technology that was once available only to large companies accessible to businesses of every size and budget. We have seen that our customers have up to 80% reduction in traditional operational costs, compared against the costs of using tools in the cloud.

Another major advantage that Microsoft cloud solutions offer for our customers is improved communication. The world is becoming increasingly social, as is the way that people do business. Microsoft allows the integration of tools to create a productive and social workplace for users with e-mail, social networking, document management, IM, chat, video conferencing, IP telephony systems, sales management, marketing, customer service systems, and sentiment analysis tools, all available through the cloud.

Two years ago, we worked with Origenes to move their emails and documents from a rented Lotus Notes program to a cloud-based Office 365solution. Because this was a first for Argentina and a Google compete customer, we worked closely with Microsoft throughout the switch. By aligning our sales and technical teams and developing a clear migration strategy, we were able to ensure a smooth transition. Today we have more and more customers moving to Office 365 who come from Lotus Notes,Exchange on premises, and Google.

The tools support the proliferation of devices, user identities, social technologies, and apps in the workplace, minimizing the complexity of adoption of cloud technologies in this new corporate age, the age of the consumerization of information technology. The new tools — together with the cost and access advantages of the cloud — mean new ways to build and maintain relationships, to develop large-scale strategies on small or medium budgets, and to operate in safe, secure, and private environments. Clearly, the future of business strategy has its answer in the cloud with the stamp of Microsoft.
